Yolo Poem by Sarah Maples

Yolo

Everyone claims it but do they apprehend it.
Did you know that the life we live isn't our last. The next life will start when
we realize that we only live once.
Many focus on trying to find themselves
but in reality you have to create yourself
before you can find yourself.
We all know that when
one door closes another one opens.
But the issue is most of us
dwell on what's behind the closed door
The one that was probably
slammed shut in our faces.
The one that has given us nothing
but grief and excruciating pain.
Blinded by the hurt filled door,
searching for the vision
of what the open one has instore.
Life really isn't hard to live at all.
It's actually very simple.
We just insist on making it complicated.
We all say live life to the fullest,
you never know when it's gonna end.
Well in the end it's not about
how many years you have lived in your life.
But about the life you've lived in those years…
