I wish I could overcome my demons
I wish I didn't get so sad
I wish I knew the key
To unlock the potential within me

I wish I felt comfortable in my skin
I wish I could let you all in
I wish I could find a way
To keep crippling anxiety at bay

I wish there was no conflict
I wish I could assert my needs
I wish I could undo the pain
For this life I can not maintain

But I have spent years wishing
Hoping for my miracle
For someone else to save me
But I know that's not to be

The solution is not in them
It is ultimately within me
So I will turn wishes into doing
Because living is worth pursuing
