Where I Came From Poem by Happiness Edeh

Where I Came From

Rating: 5.0

Long existed before the masters intrude
A separate kingdom yet with a unifying glory
love for each other so strong
Where you come from not a big deal
what you worshiped non ever gossiped

The love we shared now shattered
These masters ravaged our unity
Ourselves they made hate
Everything is torn apart
We are now dogs and cats
Only want to see our kind at the hem of affairs
Wicked or kind, justhave to be our kind

Thelove we shared now shattered
We that were bound in love, now exist in hate
All hope seemlost
But our recovery comes so fast
If we can forget our past
work towards a better path
In unity, nothing will rupture our
Hopes of being a better Nation.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

In the novel Things Fall Apart, Chinua Achebe said, the white man came and put a knife to what held us together, and we have fallen apart. Beautiful. Please kindly check my poems HOPE and THE BEAUTY OF DEATH and leave your comments.
