Monday morning, May 6, 2024 at 8: 57 a.m. and 9: 24 a.m.; Poem Hunter is presently delaying publication of this poem—
as it has so many others, the time now 9: 30 a.m. and counting— to limit the number of readers to as few as possible
What is my Chinese neighbor and foe,
Deping Su, up to today, this overcast morning
here in Raleigh where does, bucks graze, die
in time in local woods, in open fields and meadows
behind, well-behind, but hidden from my home by
woodlands, treed? Deping Su, foe and American spy—
now living across the street, at 5924 Westcreek Place,
a bare-bones interior, barely any furniture in place—
though he is a Chinese national from mainland,
China, a former professor of Computer Science
in Beijing who has since defected, 'changed sides'.
What is he up to, down to, today? Deep, deep down
in with the police—in downtown Raleigh and the Raleigh
Police Department. Covert operations is where to find him.
