Composed on Tuesday morning, March 13,2012 after watching Darren Aronofsky's film THE FOUNTAIN; revised Monday afternoon, July 26,2021 and Thursday morning, May 25, 2023 at 7: 28 a.m.
"A man shall eat well by the fruit of his mouth,
But the soul of the unfaithful feeds on violence."
- Proverbs,13: 2
"In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious; and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing..."
- Isaiah,4: 2
When he picks up the armored seed,
wipes clean the snow from atop her grave,
and drops it thereon to commemorate everything
that was and is, only then some closure,
only then some hope of relief, some power of will—
some hope of survival despite his terrible grief.
