We Need Leaders Not Misleaders Poem by Matt Starking

We Need Leaders Not Misleaders

Beware of misleaders who act as leaders
Their motives, masked behind fake deceivers
Their words, smooth as silk, can lull you to sleep
But their actions, like snakes, their true colors seep

They'll promise you the world, and offer you the stars
But their promises, like mirages, will fade with the bars
Of greed and self-interest that guide their path
Don't be swayed by their charms, do the math

For they'll take what they can, and leave you stranded
High and dry, with nothing but what's left of your bandage
Their egos so fragile, they'll crush you with their might
Don't trust these misleaders, who'll lead you to the night

The darkness of their souls, will swallow your light
And you'll be left with nothing, but a painful bite
Beware of misleaders who act as leaders
Their promises, empty, their hearts like feeders

Feeders of their own egos, a bottomless pit
Don't follow their lead, it's a trap that won't quit
The true leaders, humble and full of grace
Will guide you to the light, to a better place

So beware of misleaders who act as leaders
Choose the ones who'll guide you, to become the achievers
Of your dreams, your goals, and your aspirations
The ones who'll inspire you, to reach your destination.
