Ultimate Value Poem by Akachukwu Lekwauwa

Ultimate Value

Rating: 4.8

This shadow, my dwelling place,
Shapes and equips me
As a sword in its scabbard,
An arrow in the quiver;
Kept rust-free and sharp,
To be wielded in the heat of battle
Unleashed for special service.

This trial, my torment,
Buffeting but qualifies me
As gold before the fire,
Platinum in the furnace;
Purified and kept precious,
Highly sought after
For the perfection of all.

This storm, my voyage
Ferries and vortex me but to where i belong;
As pollen in the wind,
The falcon in the desert sky;
Soaring with grace above all limit,
To arrive the destined peak
Peerless and where all envy ascribe.

This victory, my reward
Gladdens and cheers my heart
As spoils of war to a gallant soldier,
New territory to Columbus;
Savored and flaunted with pageantry,
'res ipsa loquitur' testimony
Convicting every doubter.

This song, my staple
Nourishes and refreshes my soul
As Adam's first gaze upon his beloved Eve,
The morning dew on purple hibiscus;
Making for a bubbling spirit,
Enriched with melodies of life
And joy like a river.
