Two Trees Poem by East Sea Fairy Xing Yi

Two Trees

Two trees standing there facing each other are not at all alone.
The one who is feeling lonely is the bright Moon high in the sky.
Jealous is the autumn wind attempting to blow them apart wide.
Also jealous is a frog who tries to jump on the tree with a cry.

The one who is alone is the lamp under the window flickering.
Clinging all over its body is the stars in sky twinkling.
Delicate and charming flowers with tender love are blooming.
On bright leaves with a merry heart are the dews swimming.

Twigs of love are twittering happily in autumn wind.
Mirrored in water is their closely intertwined reflection.
Directly flowing into the lover’s heart is a clear fountain.
The you-in-me-and-me-in-you is their roots of dubious relation.
