Too Brave To Be You Poem by Katherine Perry

Too Brave To Be You

Please stop with all the 'i love you's'
For it's just not meant to be
You have your life
I have mine too
Why can't you just understand and see

For you act all big and brave around
your friends
But what would they say if they really
knew
What goes on behind closed doors is just
pretend
Or is it to be made public and all over
the news

I really know what's going on with you
deep inside
It's an ego that would fade away if you
won
Cause i'm smarter than the average bear
with few reasons to hide
But i know anything less than the truth
you'd overcome

So stop playing these games that you think
build you up
Like hanging out with the woman that you
do
Cause things will never change, you'll
just get older and more corrupt
Left all alone in a nursing home telling
stories of who's who

And your dark ways will never go away
It's just a part of you now that makes you
you
You wouldn't know what to do with yourself
anyways
Always walking around with your head down
feeling blue

So if you are presenting yourself to be
someone whom you are not
Then take a big step back and view
The reasons why things happen to you, that
happen alot
Because it is your own feet that chose to
walk in those shoes!
