Today Tomorrow Yesterday Now Poem by Terence George Craddock

Today Tomorrow Yesterday Now

living tomorrow
one day ahead
of half the world

America is stuck
in our yesterday
international dateline split

cast up to 24 hours
stuck now today behind
in our past yesterday

happily following tomorrow
all time zone cast
in our exclusive today

New Zealand scripted
first country greeting today
leading timezone world

Yes NZ is the first country to enter the new day, being closest to the international dateline. I like your observation, ' America is stuck/ in our yesterday'. NZ leads the world in other ways too, as you imply in this thought-provoking poem.
