Tides Are Coming For Us Poem by Sven Rhoads

Tides Are Coming For Us

Oceans rise to clear the board of pawns
Blinded by the greed, the power, the grace of god
When the shores are eaten by the waves
We'll all see the future sinking in the bogs
Fire blooms out of the nothingness and calm
War cries break the once proud tranquility
Washed in the riptide until no one can breathe
Don't pray for answers from the obscurity

Humanity, the failed specie
Cannot live in harmony
Cant practice what you preach
Your tongues are silver blades
Deception, the mask we've made
To hide our ugly truth
We hate each other cause we hate ourselves
And the hate spills the blood

The more knowledge one can gain
The more sorrow they come to feel
When the smoke clears from the eyes
Its only steal all you can steal

As the waters come to take us away
Its too late to see we were the monsters
All innocence, the game we played
Now the currents will pull us under
Empires will fall and nations will ruin
For the lessons of time we have ignored
The sword must come with discipline
Before one even steps into the war

To gain the power, the riches, the grace
One must lower themself
If they want to pick it up
