Thousands Poem by Leigh Ladd

Thousands

I will let you back into my world,
But first you must get on your knees.
Tell me how sorry you are,
Five hundred times for me please.

I will let you back into my life,
But first you must beg and plead.
Tell me what a fool you were,
One thousand times or until I am appeased.

I will let you kiss my lips,
But first you must show me your best.
Tell me how awful you feel,
Two thousand times then prove to me the rest.

I will let you touch my body,
But first you must be real.
Tell me of all the wrongs you did,
Three thousand times until your truth is sealed.

I will let you have my heart,
But first you must not make me cry.
Tell me how you wept both night and day,
Four thousand times and never again tell me a lie.

I will let you have my love,
But first you must show me your ability.
Tell me what my heart can expect,
Five thousand times until I believe in your honesty.
