Thinking Out Loud? Poem by Oluwatobi Olaide

Thinking Out Loud?

Thinking out loud?

The fringed curtain of my eyes has been soaked with saltwater

My eyes has been at high tide

Smiles decided to preserve itself

Now my cheek is safe from wrinkles.

The floor becomes sea that smiles at every drop of my salty water,

Your smile gave me the strength and courage to endure what was coming

Hell is empty and all the devils are here.

My thoughts when I have decked the sea with drops of full salt water.

Hell is empty and all the devils are here,

leaving me to wet the sea that roared back at me

sigh, when does this ends.

I hope the wind of my sea pities me and do me no loving wrong,

else the sea would dry to over flow

Birds would sing

It would be all dead flowers.

Drought again?

Maybe now I find peace.

Sigh, have I been thinking out loud?
