Then To The Lip Of This Poor Earthen Urn, Rendering Omar Khayyam Poem by Ravi Kopra

Then To The Lip Of This Poor Earthen Urn, Rendering Omar Khayyam

I leaned on the lips of
the goblet bubbling with wine
They whispered: drink, drink to your heart
Enjoy your life before you depart.

XXXV.
Then to the Lip of this poor earthen Urn
I lean'd, the secret Well of Life to learn:
And Lip to Lip it murmur'd - 'While you live,
Drink! - for, once dead, you never shall return.'

- Omar Khayyam
