The Thank You Note Poem by Phanice Wamukota

This is to you and for you,
For being so rich yet poor at heart,
So delicate yet so firm in the LORD,
So weak people would think yet so strong,
And so learned, yet such a student of the Word.

Its for being so tough yet such a darling,
Sometimes frightening yet so full of love,
So straight forward yet amazingly patient,
The patience with which you have drawn us to your God.

See, every little girl wants to grow and be you,
And every grown woman, wishes they were like you,
Every young man prays they get as lucky as James,
And every grown man…well, I'll have to hear their side of it.
If this was a love song I would sing of the beauty I've beheld,
Yet being a Thank You Note, I can only note the perfection inside out,
So I will kneel before God time and again,
To pray that He keeps you that way forever,
But if He must, then change you only for the better.

Time fails me so I will soon pen off,
Before which I must say these;
That to think that one woman could be so graced is absolutely mind-blowing,
That one person could be so rich in the word is so much provoking
That, one woman could have as many sons and daughters and still suffice them is absolutely heavenly,
Definitely divine, destined to be and evidence of God's presence.

So may The Man upstairs from whose eyes nothing can be hidden,
See and delight in all your good deeds,
Mark you reward eternal,
Preserve the Spirit in you in your generations
As He extends your light to all the corners of the earth.

And as you remain an ardent doer of the word
May we all learn and follow after you, never going astray
For we learn from the best.
