The Shadow Before Every Morning Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

The Shadow Before Every Morning

Rating: 5.0

Let me be in the darkness
For I cannot bear the sun
As the joyful warmth is not for me
I wait for the night
To cover the tears that I bleed
As the cool air hits my face
It's in the darkness that I can breathe
For I am the shadow before every morning
And no one knows me
As I want to be that way
So, I can be free

An absolutely brilliant poem about depression. And a stunning tribute to the shadow!
