The Milestones Poem by Ruta Mohapatra

The Milestones

Rating: 4.7

I don't know why…she wondered
As she sat on a low-hanging branch
With the squirrels playing overhead
…there is such a sense of closure
as the year comes to an end…

As if in her book of life half-read
A chapter came to an end
Never to be opened again
Bound up in silk thread
Placed at the bottom of her safe

The squirrels seem so unaware
Of the swiftly rolling years
Of the swift flight of time
At sundown waiting for the sunrise
While she waits for the new year...

The squirrels seem so unaware Of the swiftly rolling years Of the swift flight of time At sundown waiting for the sunrise While she waits for the new year...What a wonderful poem for goodbye to the old year 2021 and welcoming New Year 2022!

Beautiful...don't hire foreigners to torment your brothers and sisters! Know your soil, know your people then claim to be a loveable person and a poet! I don't appreciate your association with foreigners. Please change your attitude! !
