The Little Things Poem by Janet Mary Zylstra

The Little Things

Thank the Lord for the little things of life
When you cuddle up in bed;
For the places you've been and the things that you've seen
And the thoughts inside your head.

Thank the Lord for the little things of life
When you're walking down the street;
For your eyes, for your ears, for your nose and for your smile,
For your hands, arms, legs and feet.

Thank the Lord for the little things of life
When you're kneeling down to pray;
For the air that you breathe and the way He fills your needs
As He walks with you each day.

This poem is dedicated to my late husband, Mario Felice. I wrote it as he struggled to recover from brain surgery.
