The Future Is Bleak Poem by Eden Trinidad

The Future Is Bleak

Forbearance, so sweet,
an unruffled spirit in spite of the turbulence
Blow by blow in my dreams
It terrifies me
Repeatedly appearing in my dreams,
Fear clutching me,
I can't bear to recollect
God already foretold
and told me when my eyes are closed
I have been dreaming of a scary future,
Yet, I remain unruffled
Though my wings have cuts and burns
Bleeding profusely
I continue to soar high
My wings outstretched
Won't give up or surrender
Though life is not fair
Life showered me with gifts!
Gifts of adulation, gifts of friendship
Gifts of honors and prestige
In this Land of Eden
We are all an apple of God's eye
But we need to survive to be alive.
