The Fragrance Of The Tulip
On a beautiful mid-summer day
a sweet girl went for a walk
she chose flowers from the field for her dear mother
she wanted to surprise her mother with a bouquet
field flowers
while she arranged the flowers
said the tulip:
dear girl, I need more water than the rest here,
can you take me out and set me aside?
no, you can't, she answered the tulip resolutely,
because then my mother won't get a nice bouquet!
the tulip became so sad that she soon began to smell
it turned out to be a very nice bouquet,
but the wonderful fragrance of the bouquet was drowned out
by the foul smell of the mournful tulip

Beautiful and timeless poem of our great Poetess. To my favorites .
I love poems with a story that has a moral lesson that will indelibly marked in our heart and mind.
Cont. There are times that we are like the little girl in the story. We never care to consider the predicament of other people because we are so focused on our own noble endeavors without knowing that it will later on jeopardize our noble and earnest efforts to do something good.
When we are overwhelmed with something especially when we want to make our loved ones happy, we tend to overlook the needs of others. Our kindness is compromised.
What a wonderful and unique story, my friend. Very thought provoking and has a meaningful message.
Thank you so much dear Rose Marie, you have reached the right station, I am happy to read your response, gratefully yours, Sylvia
