The Faithful Embrace Of True Confidence Poem by Dieter Ian Maree

The Faithful Embrace Of True Confidence

It`s always been there.
Trapped in a reality with no exits
The imprisoned world of masculine love and care.
While you listened with open arms,
I thought you`d always be there

Only to discover that strength does not mean possession.
Anything worthwhile merely seeks clear and meaningful expression
When confidence and character parade hand in hand
Vulnerability will unleash a power devoid of aggression

There are no tales of dragons and monsters
Demons or desert-dwelling donkeys
No greenlights, butterflies and blue skies
Only the fragile routine that conceals our daily lies

But there lurks a fighter, a gladiator and a courageous
clown endowed with intelligence and grace
Who will provide, nurture and gently embrace
But please do not expose the invisible scars on his tear-filled face

Instead thank God for His most intriguing creatures
Gangsters with fading tattoos and cautious lovers with splendid features
Beautifully manifesting in original thought
and silently bearing testimony that our freedom can never be bought!

As anger and frustration erupt from a wounded heart
Do not let time or circumstance erase our precious art
We are the true nobility.
Guided by compassion, patience and
steadfast humility.

Destined for survival not shine
Our survival and not simply yours or mine...
