The Emptiness Within Poem by R B Seals

The Emptiness Within

In a place called Melancholy
Is where
He lived for she was there;
His divine, his Lux Aeterna.
Feelings consummate:
His love, his world—his last.
Sentiments she away cast
As startled breath resist
The frigid winter's air
That warmed not her heart
For she failed to care—
For he was worthy not of her
Love in meaningful share;
Thus, was not to honor or
Declare.

In a place called Melancholy
Is where
A heart responding, bled in despair
As tears were felt to form,
Quietly shed and signaled sigh;
Drawn, the final breath
To ready death,
Fade yon and
Die.
