The Door To Prosperity Poem by Colette Dright

The Door To Prosperity

Rating: 5.0

With or without a screen, everything I need is in between.
Beaten with rainwater and filled with air bubbles is my door.
A home filled with peace will never bring trouble.

At first, I didn't see it when I saw it. I only saw the peeling and rottenness, the ripping and tearing of the bottom as "The Door to Prosperity" started falling apart.
Then the day came, when after years of green mildew on the buildings, the guys finally came out to pressure wash the building. With extreme, intense pressure from the water, it literally destroyed the bottom of the screen door more. At the time, all we were able to see was how raggedy, trifling and disgusting the screen door looked. This was totally unacceptable to me and because I wanted a better outer appearance, I bought a piece of wood to attach to the bottom to kinda hold it in place. I complained to the maintenance man, the assistant manager and then emailed the owner pictures of the screen door.
The next week, the screen door was on a work order to be taken down. Yes, removed! I was excited. I just knew I was getting a "New" screen door. Well I didn't. The screen door was removed and then I just had the wooden door with NO protection, or so I thought. The unconcerned owner was like, "Oh well, you won't get a new screen door until 30 to 60 days,6 months, or in other words… NEVER! "

I literally thought it was easy and accessible now more than ever for someone to break in my house. Walking up to the door was so bad, my children were like, "Uggh… this is so disgusting." We were all feeling a certain type of way, especially now since the rain was pounding hard and directly damaging the wooden door. So much so, that it was now bubbling up. The wooden door was not weather treated wood, so it too started to unravel at the bottom. I wanted to email the owner with current pictures of how my main door was now being damaged and peeling until I woke up this morning. This morning, my mindset and mood was different. God revealed to me it's not about the outer, it's the inner. The cleansing, the renewal, the stripping away, washing away, taking away the old and renewing, refreshing and restoring was all for His glory. I thank You Father for restoration. I thank You Father for guiding us, protecting us and for always shinning down Your light upon us. I thank You Father for "The Door to Prosperity."

On this day, I realized that "This Door" didn't matter to someone else, but it mattered to me.
I began to look at it in a different way, a positive way. And now instead of focusing on what's wrong with "This Door, " I began to see the vision, the bigger picture. I saw everything that was right with "This Door." What was once ugly in my eyes has now become ever so Beautiful. For I see the Beauty in "This Door." It's a Beauty others didn't quite see and probably won't see.
I realized "This Door" was "The Door to Prosperity." And so from then on, every time "This Door" opened, it was another opening closer to our destiny and purpose. I said, "From now on, every time we step foot in and out of ‘This Door, ' we are stepping into prosperity."

My Bishop taught us that, "If you don't see it before you see it, you'll never see it." Well I SEE IT. I see us living financially debt free, living healthy, healed, hopeful, living in peace with patience, faith and prosperity. I see me being a homeowner one day. I see it ever more clearly every time I open "The Door to Prosperity! " I thank You Father, for I See, I Know, I Believe.

Thank You Father for "The Door to Prosperity, " for washing it down with rainwater, cleansing it and getting us all prepared for greatness. Thank You Father for the vision for me to see what You were doing through "This Door."
I am truly grateful and thankful and I appreciate the owner for NOT fixing the screen door (the outer) , because that gave God time to reveal to me the understanding of cleansing and the Beauty of the inner.
Also, when you shift your mindset to a positive mindset and see the beauty in every situation, the outcome will become different.
