The Confession Of A Handheld Microphone Poem by samson ogbeewi

The Confession Of A Handheld Microphone

Rating: 5.0

I've heard a thousand words whispered to my ear
I've had one job - say it louder, exactly as I hear
Whether it be true or false it doesn't matter
I will be free from the consequences that comes later

A politician in a campaign or a musician in a studio,
A newscaster on television or even one on radio,
A priest in his pulpit or a professor at his podium
Incurs, for the lies they tell, widespread odium

A lot have been said in rhythms and rhymes
Songs have been sung so many times
If I was given the power to do one more thing
It will be to take away the lies, I think...

But when men stands before my face
To speak...or sing, whatever the case
I intentionally echo, break or lose my voice
If truth will not be told, let's quit the noise
