The Buddha Cowboy Poem by Kevin Patrick

The Buddha Cowboy

Rating: 5.0

His words, are like thunder
Cradled in grace
Brewed in a heart of weathered raged life

His souls made of lightning
that can't be touched
without the art of compassions embrace

He's a lonesome rider
On justice's range
Saddled on the scales of even grounded plains

His youth was tattooed
In gethsemane
Yet was resurrected as jewel of human clay

He's a big rig mage
A lion in steel
Driving the back alleys of Americas shadow

He fought a just cause
In the tide of lies
bracing poverties waves of mammon's cruel depths

Should he be born in ash
His sum is valued
More than the worth of politician's mouths

My tutor of insurrection
A paladin of love and affection
He was a bandit prophet
With nothing to profit
He seeded testaments of sanity
To make an Eden for humanity

There's a star in the sky
That burns with your name
Where the maidens light lies
Riding forever with your fame

The Buddha Cowboy
Rides a lotus flower
Blazing infinity in the stars of his poems
