Having seen one of my brothers pass,
after stoic suffering in a hospice,
I had to think of life's meaning.
'Was there an afterlife or not? '
I bought a book on the subject,
'We Are Their Heaven' by Allison Dubois
a medium and TV personality from the United States.
Allison came to downtown Auckland one night
to promote and sign this best-seller.
It was an upstairs room in Queen Street
where she spoke of life and death,
the mortal body and the immortal soul,
the angels of the hospice she had met
in Gardener Home, Phoenix, Arizona.
She had turned new pages locating the lost.
Allison did not seem otherworldly to me,
but more like a worldly businesswoman.
After the speech, many were in line
to get their books signed by her.
I did too and after quite a wait
I reached the able, where she signed
the title page, glanced at me,
smiled and said, 'Hi, I'm Allison'.
'You must be Michael. Just a guess.
'Your brother is at peace in heaven, always.
'If you are ever in Phoenix give me a call'.

Mike, nice poem, rates a 10. I reviewed her life facts on Wikipedia, born 24 January 1972, age 44. It appears her existence is all about, Making A Buck. I may ask her assistance in locating the remains of Susan Cox Powell, see my poem, Why. Also, you may like my poem, Never Ending. Best to you and yours! !
