Superstitious Poem by Frank Sheehan

Superstitious

Aren't we all?
Just a little bit
Bedazzled by the dark forces
that circumnavigate the light
It can be as simple as
not stepping on something
or not uttering
certain words or phrases

It has a close
relationship to religion,
to Karmic ramifications
It's hard to pinpoint
but it affects us
in mysterious and irrational ways
It can promote ambivalent actions
into a rambunctious flow

of mind numbing delineations
used by some to alter
perfectly useful creativity.
It is dismissed as inconsequential
hokum fostered by nonbelievers,
unrighteous derelicts that
only spew what can't be confirmed
by a rationalistic frenzy.

We all are superstitious. Even those who don't admit it! Well written poem!
