Sunrise, My Lover Poem by Andrew Chavez

Sunrise, My Lover

How is it that the morning air is better than the rest of the day?
It seems so much sweeter and it fills my senses with a feeling of being complete and inspired.

My love, the Sun, she awaits my arrival to greet her and I believe that this air is warning me of the love and distance we should keep.
For on no occasion can I look at her, so I have but an emptiness to fill whilst smelling the morning.

Oh, nature's sweet fragrances, how you tease me.
You leave me wanting more!

As if I am some form of flower embracing his love for the approaching Spring.

It tastes like the rain, she leaves like a thief.
She takes my morning hours when she goes, and makes no sound for, hence it does, it slides back into the day and she goes forever more, until the next morning when I can see her in her nudity; for she has nothing to hide, the Morning.

Ah, so beautiful.
Press your lips on mine, ever waiting, I'll find that I can only wait for the 6th hour again.
