Stalemate Poem by Jake Deeds

Stalemate

Rating: 5.0

The big bay bouys were bouncing and blinking
As I gazed upon them thoughtful and thinking
The sun in my stare, wincing and winking

I sat in the sand, wondering and wishing
On turbulent waves sloshing and swishing
I cast my line fervently and fishing

Dread I....found the sun basting and baking
My blood blistered skin aggravating and aching
To a round red orb formidable and forsaking

I turned with a smile laughing and leaving
As if to posture beguiling and believing
That I triumphant, deluding and deceiving <><
