Solitude Poem by Parameswaran Nair Damodaran Nair

Solitude

Rating: 5.0

I hear painful sighs of the rain
That falls on my roof in silent nights.
Whispering in tears tales of plights
Sinks down in my veins flooding grief

The waves of grief in me tussle
To escape from the sea of agony
The one in front is pulled back
And pushed down by that follows

Melancholy of the nightingale's solo
Blended with the tune of pouring rain
Echoes through the wilderness of night
And builds a nest atop my solitude

Normally when it rains people enjoy but as you said when you are in pain the heart see it differently. It appears as if the rain is nothing but fall of tears from the eyes. A thoughtful poem 10+++

A deeply poignant write beautifully crafted and well executed. A heart in deep pain can recognize the sufferings and plights of others. A great poem with compelling imagery as always.

Thank you very much dear RMJ for thye delightful comments. Only a heart that has suffered pain can recognise the pain of others and to recognise it is the real pain

The times are bad and our hearts often sink to a state of melancholy. When it is night and when it rains, the sound of the pattering rain further darkens our melancholic spirit. Only those who have known grief will be able to fathom the depth of others' grief. A poignant write....

Thank you very much for the elating comments. There is a sorrowfyl mood in the poring rain. When we try to sleep in the dark, rainy nights we are taken to the melencholic sound barring sleep and floating memories of grief alone
