Soldier
The titanic war caused horror,
The enemy melted in fear,
The young soldier after victory,
Packed his baggage in hurry.
His mother muttered in death bed,
The triumph siren she overheard,
She couldn't see the brave soldier again,
She closed her eyes in mortal pain.
The soldier arrived a bit later,
Couldn't give her a drop of water,
She had left a letter for her son,
Only desired her son to open.
The soldier opened the letter in tear,
A patriotic verse was drafted clear.

A melancholy and beautiful tale of death, sacrifice and love.5 stars full.
A great patriotic sacrifice was it to let her son serve in the forces. However she died in peace and full satisfaction
There are so many notes of sadness in this verse. I keep thinking of loss in victory--an outcome in battles in any form, real and metaphorical. Brilliant, Dillip!
