There is power in silence
But it can open deep wounds
Built by everything unsaid
Toxicity is always fed

It can be used to punish
Or be a form of avoidance
Of things that are hard to say
It is destructive either way

It can destroy self esteem
Make them feel invisible
Insignificant and powerless
Causing untold distress

If space is needed thats ok
Be brave and just explain
For silence is not ever a tool
But a weapon that is cruel

Words aren't always easy
But they can open a channel
Where needs one can assert
Silence can only bring hurt
