Shine Bright Poem by Tiana Isaac

Shine Bright

Arise, shine for thy light is come
And the Glory of the LORD is risen upon you
So long has darkness ravaged me
Sitting in the corner of its cell whimpering and wishing.

A warrior I am
Covered in sin and darkness my eyes couldn't see
Battered and shattered
Belittled, demeaned
I believed I was nothing

Laughing and mocking he told me darkness was my home
You are nothing kept ringing, keeping sleep away
Worn out, tired from this agony

Reluctantly flipping through the pages of this great book
My eyes fell upon my victory
My eyes found illumination
Widely spread apart
Arise, shine for thy light is come and the Glory of the LORD is risen upon thee

The chains fell
The laugher and mocking halted
Light busted forth
I am free
Shine bright Tiana
Shine bright
You are so much
You are THE KING'S DAUGHTER.
