She Poem by David Lumpkin

She

Rating: 5.0

She came
Into this life
A helpless babe. But grew
Into a tempestuous soul.

Tempests of joy surrounded
Her, winds of friendliness. And
She hurried through this life
With a click, click, click.

A dark cloud loomed but
She would not surrender to
Its heaviness. But lifted her joy
High into the heavens.

And now the quiet breezes
Blow by, day after day. She
Is gone but not her joy. Her
Life has left a fragrant scent.

Sweet breezes blow, the
Smell of a rose, the light of
The sun in her eyes. Will never
Be gone. Will never be forgotten.
