Scared Inside Instead Poem by A. Bik

Scared Inside Instead

Sometimes your bones ache and you're stuck inside your heart
Sometimes the earth shakes and beneath your feet it starts
To feel bad inside your head
As you lay still atop your bed
And the steady wind does howl
But you're scared inside instead

Sometimes the rumbles get too loud
Sweet sounds start dying in the shroud
That used to bring some comfort in the storm
But dreams lay heavy as they echo through the now.
