Saved

Days ago, went shopping
Bought bread;
On sale was whole grain.

Brought home and set it
On counter…

Next day had breakfast
Felt heavy and thicker.

Since I am against waste
Had it then and again.

Came third day…

The smell of the mould
Flew out of the bag
Filled space…

Tried hard to use it…

"Never waste…"
"Never waste…"
"Never waste…"

I told and tell myself.

I am man who cares for
And bows to the farmers
For every single seed…

I can feel the sweat
And hardship of labour;
Cherish them with respect

So, hardly any waste;
Avoid waste…

If consumed, I'd be dead
And could not leave it there;
Saved it by feeding earth!
