Safty First



MAN OVERBOARD!
I heard the cry above the thunderous tome
MAN OVER BOARD!
MAN OVER BOARD!

Then I at once alone
With sodden cloths and heavy boots
Determined to pull down
It occurred to me that this may be
The day that I might drown
A vista of my life appeared above the oceans Vastness
Yet still I hear a mumbled cry

“Pull harder on the harness”

Then as she rolled from rail to rail among the
The deadly vortex
They pulled me o'er her gunwale onto her heaving foredecks.
Then put me in a bunk, safely down below
How I didn’t drown that day is something you should know
The sea had test my mettle
I’d heard the sirens song
But in truth its very simple
I’d remembered to
