Rwanda: The 100-Day Slaughter Poem by Sophie Allyah

Rwanda: The 100-Day Slaughter

It was a clear evident:
Sparked by the death
of Juvenal Habyarimana—
A Hutu— a Rwandan President
His plane was shot down
Tutsi rebel group or the Hutus extremist—
Either these two groups are behind;
This— was the prime reason of
the genocide crime.

In 1994, in just 100 days
Tutsis were mercilessly erased;
An estimated 800,000 were killed
In Rwanda, where their fate is sealed.

More than 100,000 Hutus also murdered
Moderate Hutus slayed by Hutus extremists—
By Tutsis in so called revenge killings
An ethnic slaughtering at it's bloodiest.

The genocide ended when the Rwandan
Patriotic Front overthrew the Rwandan
Hutu government

A very least victory in attainment.
