Russia-Ukraine Invasion - Every Life Is Precious - Save Ukraine. Poem by Bernedita Rosinha Pinto

Russia-Ukraine Invasion - Every Life Is Precious - Save Ukraine.

What will I tell you my friend that many from our battalion have died while some are still fighting the war;

what will I tell you when the world is watching while everyone is running and hiding here and there to save themselves from war and its horror;

what will I tell you that the bombs are exploding just like
fire-crackers bursting on the ground so recklessly;

what will I tell you that children and students, families and youth are underneath in the bunkers hiding themselves to keep away from death and torture;

what will I tell you that missiles keep raining as if it is a monsoon shower in an African desert;

what will I tell you that damaged apartments destroyed by bombs stand amidst the debris looking so dilapidated and isolated;

what will I tell you that many bodies of soldiers and civilians are fallen on the roads so callously and still more will be falling on the road as the days will keep passing in war and hatred;

what will I tell you that humanity has no respect neither war
has mercy to stop the injustice and let life and people get back to their old routine of peace and friendship;

what will I tell you that though educated is our world yet leaders like villagers keep fighting across their boundaries;

what will I tell you that even threats of nuclear war are looming when people are so aghast with COVID-19 that has battered the whole world end to end;

what will I tell you that catastrophe and disaster is entwining an impact as coronavirus had set its foot and now a fierce war is diluting world peace;

what will I tell you that ego and adamancy of two nations
is taking a country and its people all the way down the lane of devastation and sorrow;

what will I tell you that every mother cries for her child
as he or she gets wounded or killed and none can replace the love of a mother who has to miss and weep for her child silently until she lasts on this earth and recollects the sorrow;

what will I tell you that soldiers though neighbors have to keep fighting the war and killing people innocently when soldiers are also human beings but existing with a different purpose of defending their countries;

what will I tell you that there is no worthiness in a war when
human life is shown no value and war keeps aggravating its devastation without any resolution;

what will I tell you that every nation is holding its speeches and its action in greater importance rather than helping mankind and humanity to survive when war is devastating life and existence;

what will I tell you that two nations stand in defiance against each other while innocent people have to pay the price with their lives and no one can revive or replace the serenity they have lost as war imposes its own unforgettable consequences;

what will I tell you that war in all its fury and furor is futile
as every life counts and every life is precious
but no one perceives the value of peace and harmony
as leaders uphold their own notions and fight back
thus misplacing their sense of respect for humanity and peace.
