Revere this earth, it belongs to you
no matter how rich or poor you may be;
the birds and the bees, the alligators and the trees
the lions and the pigeons, the crocodiles and the chickens
the apples and the apricots, the pumpkins and the peanuts
the alligators and the monkeys, the whales and the dolphins,
they all belong to you including the rice and the millets
the onions and the garlic, the melons and the tomatoes,
everything that is from nature on this earth belongs to you.
Mother earths asks of thee nothing in return
but its preservation, conservation and protection
as the buildings they build, the earth they dig;
as the bridges they construct, the earth they dig;
knowing mother earth never objects
never opposes any of man's usage and necessity.
When houses they build, trees they cut
roads they widen, trees they cut
paper and books they make, trees they cut,
trees the silent promoter of man's activities
as branches get broken, roots get uprooted
trees the supporter of man's need and read
as wood gets pulverized and from its pulp
paper gets manufactured which on man's desk appears
as newspaper and books of knowledge and education.
Mountains and hills, rivers and lakes
change their shapes and sizes as man thinks fit
to build his future for his generations to live
to walk, to travel across, to strive and thrive.
Fishes, animals, vegetables - nature provides
the mother earth holds these all tightly
to its bosom, within its lap and yet respects
man's desire for food and nutrition.
How mother earth excels in propagating life
how man excels in propagating mother-earth
none can compare, none can distinguish.
Saving mother earth by not using plastic
saving mother earth by not dirtying the surroundings
saving mother earth by not endangering wildlife
all these are human thoughts which need no reminders
if there is you in you, if there is mother-nature in you.
Show your love for this earth
by respecting every drop of water
and by avoiding its wastage,
by respecting every tree
and by stopping those who want to cut it,
by respecting every animal, bird or fish
and by not killing them constantly,
by respecting every flower that blooms,
and as you revere this earth
the earth will silently revere you
and your connection with it
just like the bee-hive cherishes it's bee.
