Respect Poem by Frank James Ryan Jr...fjr

Respect

Distant blade-runner
not content to status quo,
indifferent to conformity,
speaks with ambiguity;
ostensibly no-one understands
what he's doing, or thinking about;
what he's thinking;
just listens with an air of hubris
within, and his eye's never steer
away from those watching his,
never he the first to blink,
until tomorrow when its time to speak,
and does so unrestrained,
about time urgent matters,
that impact many others,
who look to him as mentor,
an admired state of status,
well earned from years of making-
decisions that demand results
with terminal consequence
as opposed to shots from the hip,
so to be on the road by five.

No one really likes his style,
or his manner in matters of logic.
Some have walked away from his mantra
of working for pride and perfection,
with a cold and headstrong air;
pushing others ahead
to promotion, or back door.
He is despised and depicted
as many despise The Donald.
But they all do much respect him,
for what he says...he means;
his promises are never broken,
and his goals are not to be liked,
but to make everyone around him better,
as that's what leaders do
when it comes to business ethics.
What a wise man he be,
and the nicest man you'd want to know
any night, after turning the last light off
until tomorrow, when he turns them back on,
which is policy and obligation
for whoever is last out the door each night.
