Reflections Poem by Suresh Raavi

Reflections

As I am discovering my newness in antiquity,
Looking at my impressions on the winds,
That found rest on leaves of yore,
I see myself as a new leaf,
Inserted into ancient history.

The thirst that's quenched, the footsteps that find a path,
Are all like a dream that has passed.
I listen to the wilted flower rustle,
While remembering the sweat of new thirst,
Realising that I myself am part of it.

I have gained knowledge that was once impossible,
Of the distant secrets that lie in the past,
Through endless pursuit and perseverance,
I am able to realise the truth.

As night becomes day and day becomes night,
Truth changes its form and appears in a new light.
