Always with India,
always for India
always lived
serving India tirelessly;
proud of India
pride of India.

Smiling rarely
but always so polite;
short in stature
but always so humble;
clever in attitude
but always was so loyal
in rectitude, in fortitude,
from beginning of career
until his last breath.

Lived as politician,
became a President;
always a guide of co-operation
always a champion in negotiations;
a political star shining brightly
all thro his career;
never abandoned
his path or his direction;
so committed to national values;
so adhering to people's consensus;
so loving to this nation
always upholding great solidarity
for years, for decades;
never gave up his objective
of nationalistic endeavours.

He was always agreeable
to new ideas;
his political career itself a legacy
to our nation;
he will be long remembered
by leaders
by generations;
his perseverance
his loyalty will encourage
others to be loyal to their dedication
to make our country paramount
in success and endurance.

His own facial expression
always so serious
always so thoughtful
yet depicted a sense of thankfulness,
a sense of delight
as through those years
he had watched India grow
and change to a better country,
in development and progress.

In his words and speeches
he remained steadfast
to what he could do for his country;
his efforts, his contributions
a reflection to our nation
where in that mirror of memory
shines a patriotic son
who spent his life
keeping his eyes wide open
to see that every step taken
by India was for the benevolence
and the benefit
of our population.

Thank you President for your life
so realistic and committed
to India and it's progress
that the multitudes of people
of our nation will recollect of you
as the dynamic and unfaltering President
that you were
while you lived
while you smiled;
and while you depart
you carry tons of appreciation with you.
