Pledge Poem by Ratnakar Mandlik

Pledge

Rating: 4.3

Many a wars the freedom fighters fought
To free you motherland from shackels of slavery
Displaying rare couragethey martyred with bravery
And threw to the winds their dear ones lot.

Significance of the freedom they did know
Gen next inherited it and started to it blow
Blurring, thus, in slavery and freedom boundary
Making hard earned freedom virtual and imaginary.

For common man freedom has become illusory
Its fruits were reaped, though, by few coteries
Governed by selfishness and inhuman qualities
Who are ruled by even the setanic mentalities.

We pledge oh motherland on this Valentine Day
To regain true freedom, for you, in noble way.

A good pledge for motherland. We can regain the true freedom when we are wholly conscious.

For common man freedom has become illusory Its fruits were reaped, though, by few coteries Governed by selfishness and inhuman qualities Who are ruled by even the setanic mentalities. So very true. We have convieniently forgotten the past where so many sacrificed their lives and energy to attain our freedom. Now the politics has become so bad that your words catch meaning at once when we read your poem. thank you . tony

It was through relentless suffering and sacrifice that our forefathers won for us freedom! But the new generation hardly realizes the value of this hard earned freedom! They toy with freedom and corruption and nepotism, violence and racism have greatly marred the freedom of our land! Let us pledge ourselves that we shall do all that is within our power to safeguard the freedom of our country! A very patriotic write!
