Pleasant Smile

Pleasant Smile

(a poem by Shakil Ahmed)

Pleasant smile of passionate lips
Very often disables me
In the hour of ravishing sunshine.
My moaning heart, full of dread and horror,
Catches every gazte of
Lovelorn sparkling eyes.
I conceal this lovesick gaze,
In the shade of green olive leaves,
In the roar of fathomless turbulent ocean,
When moonlight softly touches
The reddish petals of lovely begonia.
Haunting music of that hallowed love
Cannot be captured and is beyond words.
Allure and charm of this celestial love
Make us euphoric and enraptured,
Wiping out all dark scars and blemishes
From our congealed and suffocated heart.

A puff of wind passes jabbing my tender heart,
Renewing fresh vivacity and exuberance
In my feeble and fragile body and soul.
Alluring lips feel like a blooming rose
Lying near the minerats of love
In a crisp and charming autumn day
Despondent gestures and afflicted sensation
Hover in the ripples of Northern ocean.
The moan of anguish often leave us
Shuddered and tormented,
But when love knocks at the door
It turns bitterness into a perennial bliss.
Protracted dithering and encircling gloom
Are lost perpetually in the oblivion.
An eternal happiness only pervades
In our flowing veins and shivering arteries.
