Pitiful Poet Poem by Dorsey Baker

Pitiful Poet

Pitiful poet
since you were born
juicy sweet
like an ear of corn
Pitiful poet
you wear
no disguise
see crystal clear
through blind eyes
Pitiful poet
take your coffee
black without
sugar or cream
you live in a nightmare
because you cannot
dream a dream
Pitiful poet
you carry
a heavy weight
your burden
your mental state
