Paying My Taxes Poem by Randy McClave

Paying My Taxes

I don't mind paying taxes when the poor cannot
Them seeing or knowing me I have a lot,
So, I don't mind them paying less and I pay a bit more
And towards them there is no hatred and I am not sore.
I have and I have earned more than what they do
So, I know that I should pay my fair share which is true,
They are of course the poor and also the needy
And I am not at all selfish or uncaring or at all greedy.
When we all die we will all be penniless
And God will judge us with questions with either a, "No" or "Yes",
Remember the poor woman with one coin gave all that she had
Then Jesus looked upon her and his heart was glad.
I don't mind paying my taxes at all
As I don't want to see my government to ever bankrupt or fall,
So, I will always and patriotically pay my fair share
Because helping others I really do truly care.
What really bothers me is when I pay my taxes
And then and only then will I get angry and grind my axes,
When I see and hear of wealthy that don't
And the rich that ever won't.
