Pandora's Box Poem by Ellen frawley

Pandora's Box

Rating: 4.5

Locked away inside,
So many things,
I try to hide,

Locked away,
Even from myself,
To protect my mental health.

At the time,
I couldn’t deal,
With situations my younger self was left to deal with.

So now,
So long,
Its like these dark deeds were never done.

But I’m afraid that some how,
Some day,
That the key will be found to Pandora’s box.

Unable to recall memories, so many are repressed,
Will I be able to cope,
Or will I snap with the mental stress.

How about filtering it all out from Pandora's Box in a gradual process of poems, keeping for yourself what's not ready to go yet. What you will release from the box will in turn relieve your pain. Poetry is like that. That's why we write it. A good poem with a promise of alot more to come.
