Orion Poem by K Marie

Orion

Rating: 5.0

Greetings Orion,
You mighty hunter,
I see you're adorning the sky
Once again.
The nights have grown frigid
While the days have grown short,
So out you come to chase
The beasts through the starry air.
How simple the hunt,
So clean.
One is stalked while the other
Gives chase
Each tosses in the strength of their
Own to pit against their foe
Till one calls the Victor.
Oh if only to join you in the velvet blackness.
Too shine above the thermosphere
And watch the world spin by.
Tell me mighty hunter…
Can I join you?
We could float across the night,
Leaving earthly woes behind.
Get lost in the eternal vastness
Of the cosmos.
Then sneak behind the moon
To hide away from the sun
Resting from our darkness play
Only to rise and hunt again.
