The river flows with a powerful ripple,
She streams along the earthy grounds with a trickle,
She skips gently with a spring and sprinkle,
Then, she flows along the current without a wrinkle!
With her moves and curves, is she ready to mingle?
Or enjoy her freedom with a resolve to remain single,
She stands on a high cliff with a shy giggle,
Then, she glides down the hill drifting with a dribble!
O! Let me feel the cool caress of the soft breeze....she sings,
O! Let me feast my eyes on the green grass and the coloured blooms,
O! Let me censor the romantic gaze of the high mountains,
O! Let me celebrate the freedom to flow without any hindrance!
It is not yet time for me to join the big Sea! She asserts….
This is the best time for me to spill, swirl and roll with glee!
A Sonnet
Amazing flow of a river replicated by the words of matching charm, mood and pace. The personification, first through third person, and then through first person enlivens the portrayal of the stream. It's my pleasure to have read this poem. Thanks, Geeta ji. It goes into MyPoemList.
Powerful ripple we hear. We see the service attitude of grateful river. She skips gently with a spring and sprinkle, and we enjoy the beauty of such beautiful river and and we are motivated by great scenic beauty of river and we have to learn many things about selfless service. Beautifully rhyming and musical like the gurgling song of a flowing river! The alliteration is so pleasant! The river enjoys her rambling! Along with her we too are rambling! Lovely write!
